QuickList

[Free to the Windows community]

QuickListQuickList icon is a great alternative to the Windows StartMenu!

Your use of the computer generally involves a small set of the total capabilities the computer provides. You use a set of programs to get your tasks completed. You could use the START button and search through all the installed programs. You could pin shortcuts to the LIMITED space on the taskbar. You could place shortcut icons on the desktop for those favorite programs. You would then have to close or minimize a program in use if you wanted to access one of those desktop icons.

QuickList provides a way for you to place ALL those favorite shortcuts into a display that will popup over of all current desktop content. Your favorites are listed in the popup list. Simply click on one of those and the favorite program will start. (Right click on any item to close the popup - no action is taken.)

2. Drag the QuickList desktop icon onto the taskbar and position it to your liking.
3. Create a new folder (possibly in your Documents folder) to hold the shortcuts, files, and subfolders. It could be named QuickList for example.
4. Hover over the taskbar QuickList icon. Click on the double gear icon to open the QuickList program.

6. Scroll through the information panel documentation. It contains the current instructions for building up the contents of your new QuickList. Those instructions detail how to both add your shortcuts, files, and subfolders directly to the folder (step 3) and more importantly how to drag-and-drop those things to your active QuickList.
